Virgina G. Solmundson

Virginia G. Solmundson, cherished wife and mother, born April 15, 1941 in Bethlehem, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the age of 63. She is survived by her sons, Erik, Jeffrey and Kurt Solmundson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lee Anne and James Handy; nephew, Brian Solmundson and sister-in-law, Bonnie; cousins, Sandy and Oraine Roth.

Ginny has joined her beloved husband and companion David Solmundson in heaven. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Grace Schaeffer and Saul Roth. Ginny moved as a young woman with her mother to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where she met and fell in love with David. In 1977, they moved their young family to their new home in San Antonio, where, in addition to raising her boys and supporting her husband she was a poet, public speaker and humorist. She used her God given sense of humor and gift of encouragement to bring joy to many groups and organizations.

She was a dedicated member and officer in Coker Elementary, Bradley Middle School and Churchill High School PTAs, as well as a volunteer with the Churchill Band Parents. She was a graduate of Bible Study Fellowship and a member of the Wonderful Widows group at Wayside Chapel church, where she drew strength and comfort following the loss of David. Her love and uplifting spirit will be treasured by many.
