Virginia Helen Anderson Boeck

May 13, 1921 – November 13, 2017

Virginia Helen Anderson Boeck, age 96, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. Virginia was born in Chicago, IL to Anton T. and Joanna Harmacinski Anderson on May 13, 1921 and moved with her family to San Antonio in 1924.

She graduated from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio with a teaching degree, majoring in math and philosophy. Virginia married Lt. Merle H. Boeck on June 13, 1942. During Merle's years in the Air Force they were stationed at Randolph Air Base, Waco Army Air Base and several bases in Japan before settling down in San Antonio. Together they built a thriving business, Featherland Egg Farms, and raised their five children on the farm which was located on what is now Thousand Oaks Rd. Virginia volunteered in nursing homes for over twenty years, visiting the elderly who were alone and serving them through her ministry with St. Luke's Catholic Church.

Virginia and Merle were members of Oak Hills Country Club for over fifty years and enjoyed playing tennis, golf and bridge with their many wonderful friends. The couple were married for 72 years until Merle passed away in 2014.

Virginia leaves behind daughters Beverly Chaplain, Angie Lemmons, Gina Stillwell and Debbie Boeck, and son Conrad Boeck, plus 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 1:00 PM. at Villa de San Antonio, 8103 North Hollow, San Antonio, TX 78240.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smile Train or other charity of one's choice.
