Dear Mom, We've loved you for a lifetime. 
You loved us just as long. 
You loved us through the ups and downs, 
And taught us how to be strong. You taught us how to laugh and to cry.

When we needed you, you were always there. At times, we turned our backs on you,

Hi, Mom, It's been a month/5 weeks go figure how it can be both; blame it on the Roman calendar makers. It'a been really hard these past weeks, talking to you every waking minute and waiting for the answer that I can't hear. Thank you so much for your visit the night before your services. I needed to know you were O.K., and you came through loud and clear. Cory asked M'lyssa where you were, and she told him that you are with the angels. He likes that idea, because now you are with Lacey our catand Limo your cat. Did you see who all came to your services? People we haven't seen or heard from in YEARS. You had a great turnout. Santa Rosa Children's Hospital continues to get donations on your behalf, and one of the Board members is Mary Kerr from Calumet. Jane and Katy were here, and brought love from all the Dugans, Mayers, Reardons, DeCourseys and all their offspring. Ann Rex called Dad last week and left a really nice message online, as did dozens of other folks. You are sorely missed by everyone, and Mouse still runs in your room when we go over. So does Salem. I love you, and just wanted you to know that there are many people you left behind who miss you. But your legacy lives on in the generous donations to the Children's Hospital. When first you wake, and see us gone, 
Know that we are not alone, 
For memories abound of our life with you 
Memories, I think, are way too few. 
But in my grief, I saw you smile, 
And knew that, although it may take awhile, 
I, too, will laugh again and welcome the sun, 
Because you taught me to appreciate fun.

To Uncle Bruce & My Cousin Cloud Clan... While geography probably kept us from being closer in our lives, I can say that when I was fortunate enough to be around you all, I felt nothing but extraordinary gracious hospitality and family love. I suspect Aunt Geesh had a great deal to do with this. Aunt Geesh was truly there for me when my Mom, Aunt Ruthie passed away 35 years ago today. Geesh's empathy and understanding was truly remarkable then, especially given she had lost a Sister. What I learned from Aunt Geesh, or should I say I try to emulate, is the gift of making the lives around you better, bringing comfort to those whom need "giving." And again, while geography minimized our involvement as families, Aunt Geesh made every one of us DeCourseys' better. I have a very warm feeling as I write this in knowing that Aunt Geesh & Aunt Ruthie is watching over all of us now. Care and Love to all of you,

"Aunt Geesh" as my Mom Ruth Ann DeCoursey Holmes called her, was my Grandma Ruth Dugan DeCoursey's sister. Since my Grandma passed away before I was born, it was neat to meet her sisters, who were and are great ladies just as I am sure my Grandma was. I was in San Antonio around 1992 with my Aunt Dianne DeCoursey O'Connor and her daughter Kathleen O'Connor. We met Aunt Geesh out for lunch and margaritas...being a freshman in high school at the time, I thought this was pretty cool! It is a great memory. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Karen, sorry for you and your family - I have a meeting today or I would have come to give you a hug. I still have such warm feelings for you and our friendship from school. My prayers are with you, especially during this difficult time.

The help she gave our family when Mom passed away will forever be in my heart. The excitement we all had during the summers knowing that the Clouds were coming and seeing Geesh pull up with all the kids hanging out of the car. Giving my daughter her first Margarita in San Antonio at a bar of course she was only 15 Needless to say Katie fell in love with her. Who wouldn't!! How lucky I am to be related to a woman who could light up a room just by walking in. We can all only hope that some of those genes have been passed on. To the Cloud Family, 
 I am extremely sorry to here about the passing of Ginny Cloud. I've known the Cloud family since roughly the 7th or 8th grade and Bruce Jr. and I became quite good friends. There were a lot of good times at the house on Calumet, but one thing in particular stands out in my memory. When ever I would visit Bruce, which was quite often, Mrs. Cloud would always have something to eat for us, and she always asked me if I wanted a glass of Milk. Out of politeness I said yes, but just a small one. Thats when she would get out a shot glass and hand me a very small glass of milk. It got to be our little joke over the years. 
 I know how much she was loved and how much she will be missed. My wife and I will keep her in our prayers. 
 May God grant her eternal rest and let His perpetual light shine upon her. Sincerely

Ginny and Bruce raised a fine family together and have remained close-knit. I'm very sorry I won't be able to be there to support my good friends in their time of sorrow. May we be comforted in knowing that there is a much better place where we will see her again, and that her lifely struggle is no more.

Dear Uncle Bruce, Bruce, Jr., Sheila, Karen, Debbie, and Ginna - We are so sorry to hear about Aunt Geesh's death. The Dugan family will never forget the care and love she gave Bob in his last days...that meant the world to him to have his sister by his side. Not to mention the much needed comic relief both she and Aunt Jane provided! We remember Aunt Geesh's great sense of humor and her love for feeding everyone... the Crackerjacks in Texas the kids all got sick on and her homemade stew that filled our plates overflowing she insisted we eat every bite of AND MORE - while babysitting the kids. We were always amazed how she turned the back of her station wagon into a small mini-mart on her trips to KC!! No doubt she's cooking up a storm right now for the reunion with her family! We hope her fond memories will ease the difficult days ahead. Our

Dear Mr. Cloud and Cloud "Kids": Sheila, Karen, Bruce Jr., Debbie and Ginna, We were saddened along with countless others who loved Mrs. Cloud to learn that she has left us....but....know that at this moment she is in the sight of God. Your loving, wonderful wife, Mr. Cloud, and your sweet, caring mother, Sheila, Karen, Bruce Jr., Debbie and Ginna.....home in heaven where she is being rewarded for the life she gave to you and.....to all of us. The last few days, as one of the Rex kids growing up alongside the Cloud kids, my mind has been so full of memories. Riding my bike from Elmview to Calumet I always knew I was in for a treat. There was always fun ahead and you never knew just what it was going to be but you knew that Mrs. Cloud was there planning games, cooking and baking something yummy AND if you were lucky, you would be asked to stay through supper and then overnight. The fun went on! Mrs. Cloud always knew just what to say and do to make you laugh and enjoy every minute you were there playing with her kids. You became one of her kids every time you were there. The outings, especially to MacArthur Park, were numerous and of course, always fun and so much so that the time just flew by. The many summers that the Rex Family went to their family reunion in Oklahoma, did we ever get on the road without that basketful of munchies and goodies prepared so thoughtfully and lovingly by Mrs. Cloud? Never. She was always listening and if you ever mentioned any "favorite this or that" you would then find it in that basket and it just made the trip so much better. And, oh yes, there was always something funny thrown in.....so very Mrs. Cloud! And then.....as I go on and on.....our very first family pet, our little fox terrier Tippy, arrived one day in a crate, shipped from KS City ! and yes, arranged by Mrs. Cloud. Once again the fun began and one incident my brother John will well remember happened one evening when our parents arrived back at our house after going out to eat. Turned out to be a little prankhad to do with the new family dogset up by non other than Mrs. Cloud. What memories!! Well, the reminiscing goes on and the sweetness that it brings will make this time we are trying to take care of our feelings much easier and lighter. She would want it that way and we thank her for that. Thank you, Mrs. Cloud, for always smiling, caring, thinking of all of us and rarely if ever, about yourself. And thank you, Mr. Cloud and Cloud Kids for sharing your wonderful wife and mother with us. We were all Cloud Kids when we were with her. She is with us as I write this and I can see her Irish Eyes, now in heaven, smiling so lovingly down upon all of us.

Ginny Cloud always made you feel special, always flashed a smile, and always "just had to give you something...a babybed, food, a hug, a duckyes, a real live duck!, and on and on...! From Bruce and Ginny, Pattie and I absorbed our best lesson in life...to be your child's best friend; love and support flowed from there. Our thoughts and prayers are with Uncle Bruce and all the amazing Cloud children. We each have the fondest memories of Aunt Geesh -- for Chris one of them was the unforgettable Mexican food cooked at one of the wild and funny Fourth of July celebrations in Kansas City with Popeye bringing in this huge box of fireworks and Chris and Dennis feeding beer to the dog, Inky -- for Lisa, it was the great fun had getting mom Jane up to sing at the Irish bar at the San Antonio River Walk. Oscar and I always thought very highly of Bruce and Ginny. My prayers are with the family and may God Bless all of you.

Our prayers are with you through your times of tribulation. We did not really know Mrs. Cloud very well, but do know that she was a very special person in knowing her son Bruce. It is not difficult to see that Mrs. Cloud instilled many good virtues in her children, which is all we can do as parents. We know you will be missed, but we can all rejoice that you have gone to a better place to see your father in Heaven.

It was with great sadness that Gene and I learned of the passing of this special lady. Although, we haven't been in touch for many years, we have wonderful memories of times spent together at Holt's ranch in Colorado. She was truly a gracious and lovely person. Gene and Bruce have been friends from "way back" and he is in our thoughts and prayers as is the rest of the family.

Dearest Cloud Family, I will always have such beautiful memories of a lovely lady who was a mother to me in many ways. It was Ginny who inspired me in 1980 to volunteer at Santa Rosa Children's Hospital. I helped the full-time teacher at that time to read to and teach the children striken with leukemia. It was a difficult but challenging task, and I will always cherish the memories of Ginny's encouraging words to me, especially when one of our students passed away. Ginny left me a number of tangible memories, too. On my nightstand, I have an absolutely gorgeous picture of Madonna and Child that Ginny encased in a lovely pink and blue frame that so perfectly completes this charming gift. Pink and blue have always been my favorite colors. Ginny also remembered me with a very special "Mothers' Manual" during a trying and difficult situation I was dealing with in my birth family. And last but definitely not least, Ginny and Mr. Cloud gave me the very precious gift of my best friend and forever friend, their daughter, Sheila. For over 55 years, we have shared good times and not so good times, and for those years and all the ones to come, I am very grateful. Please accept my sympathy and that of Bruno on the passing of a very precious wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. May Ginny's soul rest in the peace of our heavenly Father.

Dear Bruce and family, A brief note to express our sincere sympathy to you on Ginny's passing and to tell you and all the Cloud family,that you are in our thoughts and prayers. As a part of the Cloud cousins, know we are lifting you up in prayer and thankful for the wonderful person Ginny was and celebrating her life with you. As a boy, I remember how neat I thought it was the we had 2 Virginia Cloud's in our family. One my grandmother, who thought the world of Ginny, and one my 2nd cousin remember many a talk about how to keep this and all our cousins i.e. 2nd ,3rd etc. straight who was married to a cool guy named Bruce, who my grandfather Leo talked about fondly all the time. As a young man and adult, I grew to know what a wonderful thing it was to be a part of a large family and share memories and reunions with so many terrific people and they're kids; and share the fact that we were all in the same family tree. We will always remember Ginny fondly as a part of our extended family for her caring ways, her charm and her terrific deserts and special dishes at reunions and gatherings. I have kept up with her health decline lately through Peggy and Rod and know it has been a tough time recently for all. Please know how much we thought of her and do think of each of you especially today and the days to follow, as you deal with her absence. Reflecting on Psalms 121, remember you are not alone. God Bless Ginny Cloud and we are thankful for the positive difference she made in so many lives, including our families, through the years. Love to all.
