She was born June 28, 1923, in Callahan County, Texas to Herbert and Lola Bone. Virginia was valedictorian of the Eula High School class of 1941. She graduated from business school in Abilene and was in the oil business until her husband Jim Humphries passed away.
She moved to Lubbock and was in the retail business with her daughter until they moved to San Antonio in 1986. She worked at Artisan's Alley until she was 75. Virginia was a long time member of DRT.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla Watson and husband Lyndol; granddaughter, Wendye Reichenau and husband Aubrey; step-children, Pat Bray and husband Jim, Art Humphries and wife Debra; six step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
A special and heartfelt thanks is extended to her wonderful longtime neighbors, Mike and Beverly McCreary, and to the staff at Odyssey House for their tender loving care.
