

Virginia Morgan Meyers Moore, born in Hillsboro, Texas October 23rd, 1923, died Sunday, July 22nd, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bart Moore and her son, Adrian Hutchings Moore. Mrs. Moore was a descendent of John Woods Harris, first Attorney General of the Texas Supreme Court and Special Counsel to the United States Supreme Court, and of Samuel Rhodes Fisher, Secretary of the Texas Navy and signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Santa Rosa Childrens Hospital Auxiliary, the San Antonio Country Club, The Argyle, Timely Topics, the Assembly Dance Club, the Pilon Club, the Junior League, a Past President of the Laurel Heights Garden Club, a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority at the University of Texas and a Past President of The Forum. One of Mrs. Moore's greatest interests was serving on the Board of Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children and teaching drama to the children there. Mrs. Moore is survived by her sister-in-law, Alice Baker Meyers of Houston; her daughter, Andrea and her husband, Jimmy Pridgen; her daughter, Teresa Mahana of Santa Rosa, CA; and her three grandchildren, Erin and Jennifer Pridgen and Michael Mahana.
