Virginia P. Rodriguez

Virginia was born in Raymondville, Texas. She was raised and attended schools in Lyford, Texas. She was married to the late Antonio (Tony) Rodriguez and together raised five children. The family lived in Kingsville, Texas for many years in the Fairview area behind Gillett Intermediate School. She worked as the Store Manager of the old Terry Farris Store next to Harrels Drugstore for several years. She was a member of Saint Martins Church and a long-time member of the Columbian Ladies. Virginia was always an enthusiastic and strong supporter of Brahma, Javelina and Aggie sports. Her kids, grandkids and great grandkids were her pride and joy. She helped raise many of her grandkids. Her greatest life accomplishment was providing the constant motivation and love to ensure all her kids and grandkids got a strong education, lived with strong values and maintained a strong family bond.

She is preceded in death by her husband Antonio, parents Jose Perez and Tomasita Perez, brother Oscar Perez, sister Teodora Ramirez, brothers-in-law Jose Ramirez and Joe Loya, and son-in-law Xavier Montalvo.

She is survived by her daughters Emma Montalvo and Nora Pratt (Steve); sons Gilbert (Sally), Rudy (Susan) and Ronnie (Katy); granddaughters Becky Butler (Steve), Elizabeth Castaneda (Gili), Kara Carlson (Nate), and Alyssa; grandsons Michael (Sarah), Mark (Meg), Kyle, Matt, Alex (Paige) and Christian. She is also survived by her great grandkids Ace Butler, Camila Castaneda, Ethan Castaneda, Jordan Rodriguez, Mikey Carlson, Chandler Rodriguez, and Sloan Rodriguez; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Belo Loya and sister-in-law Eloisa Perez.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stone Oak Care Center where she lived and was cared for during the last three years.

Carmelita, our caregiver sent to us from God, will always be remembered for the love and caring she gave mom in her final weeks.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
