Wade Allen Marrs, 63, was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Wayne and Barbara Marrs on September 2, 1962 (his dad’s birthday) and went to be with our Heavenly Father on April 21, 2026. A lifelong San Antonian, Wade’s life was a bright, steady song rooted in faith, lifted by music, and shared generously with the people he loved.
Wade graduated from Bandera High School, Class of 1981, and devoted the last 30 years of his career to the cancer therapy and research center/UT MD Anderson Mays Cancer Center in San Antonio. Through decades of work and service, he brought commitment and purpose to what mattered most: showing up, doing the work, and being part of something that helps others.
Wade is survived by his parents, Wayne and Barbara Marrs; his brother David Marrs and wife Nancy; his brother Chris Marrs and wife Tommie Jo; his daughter Lindsay and her children Gavin, Allura, and Aiden, and her blended family with Lloyd, Dejah, Demarcus, and Destiny; his daughter Brianna and her children Diego, Benjamin, and Max, and her blended family with Jay, Jason, Chris, Gage, and Maddie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Matthew, Elisabeth, Tyler, Taylor, Tarin, Tori, Luke, and Richie. Wade is also survived by his own blended family Athena and Kevin and their children Vinny, Lalo, Kavoncio, Adonis, Blaise, Valeo, Kado, and Kaio.
Wade will always be remembered for his love for God, his love of music, and the joy he found in playing guitar and going to concerts. He delighted in the wonder and nostalgia of collecting antique toys and comic books, and he was never happier than when bringing people together—hosting gatherings and parties where laughter, conversation, and connection filled the room. Wade was so deeply loved and will be missed dearly; his light will continue to shine on through all those who loved him.
