

Warren E. Myers, Major General, USA Retired, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2009. He was born in Chandler, Oklahoma on December 18, 1920, the son of Earl W. Myers and Dora Biswell Myers.
General Myers attended Stone Grade School and graduated from Chandler High School and Oklahoma A & M University with a degree in Economics.
On May 15, 1942, he received an ROTC Commission and went directly into the service. Prior to going overseas, Lt. Myers and Doris Dosie Bissett were married on August 25, 1942. During World War II he served in the Pacific Theatre as a Ranger from New Guinea to the Philippines to South Korea as a Platoon Leader and Company Commander with the 63rd Infantry of the 6th Infantry Division. He attended numerous military schools and was awarded many decorations including the Combat Infantry Badge, the Distinguished Service Medal and a Purple Heart. Post-war, his service included the US Army Reserve with the 90th Infantry Division, as well as retiring as the Commanding General of the 90th ARCOM after almost 20 years as a Flag Officer.
In civilian life Warren Myers was a Real Estate Broker and served on various boards, including Bank Director of Ingram Park National Bank of Commerce, Trustee of the Baptist Memorial Hospital System, Plaza Club Board as it's Chairman and as a board member of the Army Residence Community.
He and Mrs. Myers were charter members of Trinity Baptist Church where he served in various capacities. General Myers loved the Lord, his country, family and friends. He was always ready to serve and to give of himself and will be sorely missed.
General Myers was preceded in death by his parents, his 2 sisters, Esther Slater of Clinton, Oklahoma and Wanda Mauch of Ada, Oklahoma; and his brothers, Vernon Myers of Oklahoma City and Perry Myers of Dayton, Texas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dosie; sister-in-law, Carlyn Myers of Dayton; five nephews and their families, brother-in-law, L. A. Pittman and nephew, John Pittman of San Antonio; niece, Ami Brown and her husband, Mike of Houston and J. D. and Christian Brown and Zachary Pittman.
