Wesley was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Lee Butts; mother, Carrie Jo Thurman Butts; and mother-in-law, Betty Jo Custer McKinney.
Wesley leaves behind his beloved wife, Nancy Dale McKinney Butts; uncle, Larry Thurman; brother, James Harrison Kelly; sisters, Nancy Jane Butts, Deborah Susan Butts Lyons (Patrick Lyons), Donna Marie Butts, and Mary Ann Butts Arnold (Kenny Arnold); sister-in-law, Debra Ann McKinney Carter (Leonard); nieces and nephews, Patrick "Lee" Lyons, Johnny Lyons, Christina "Tina" Lyons Cooksey, Timothy Lyons, and Kevin Christopher McKinney (Cherie Curry).
The family will hold a service at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
