William E. Ayres

Lt. Col. William E. Ayres, USAF Ret., age 82, died on Sunday, August 19, 2001. He was born in Eaton, OH. He was a pilot and a dentist for the USAF. He was also the Director of Dental Hygiene at Lakeland Community College in Mattoon, IL. A San Antonio resident for the past 13 years, he was a member of the San Antonio Lions Club and the San Antonio Chapter of the Friendship Force. He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Ayres of San Antonio; daughters, Marsha France and husband Jim of Las Vegas, NV, and Chris Ashley and husband Vince of Lexington, KY; son, Randall Ayres of San Diego, CA; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:30 to 9:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
