Colonel Ballard was my commander in Berlin Germany. I loved the unit and personnel were treated great. I just finished reading an excerpt of the 6912th that he had written on the internet. When I looked him up on google I was saddened to find out he died 5 years ago. My greatest sympathies to the family of one of my best leaders.

I served with the Colonel. He was always a fine leader, true gentleman and exemplary American. Over thirty years ago he signed a plaque and it remains in a place of honor on my wall today. America, and the world, is a much better place because of him.

I had the honor and pleasure of knowing Col Ballard when I first started my civil service career and through the FTVA organization. He was always a gentlemen, and had a great sense of humor! He was also a heck of a racketball player, havign to reserve courts for him and his partners! A real honor knowing him.

Bill is a man of character and integrity. He was a teacher to me. I will miss his humor. Our prayers are with the family.

Valli, Your father was a great man and I feel it was a privilege to have met him. I always found him fascinating to speak with and enjoyable. I wish I had known him better than I did. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Only the best of memories from the 70's in Berlin with Bill Ballard and the fascinating times at Teufelsberg, Marienfelde, and Tempelhof. A huge thanks for all he did for so many of us and for his country.

I did not have the opportunity and pleasure to work with Col Ballard during my career with USAFSS/ESC/AFIC, but I heard enough stories about him to know that he was a true "full of Bull" colonel and not an "O-6."

I had the privilege of working for Colonel Ballard when I was assigned to his squadron at DaNang as a young officer in 1969. He was dedicated to the mission and to his troops, an excellent officer and commander, and I learned a lot from him. Ill never forget those times. My deepest sympathy to his family
