William George Berchelmann

He was born on May 10, 1951 in San Antonio, TX. He was the fifth of six children, born to Dr. August George Berchelmann and Mary Louise Staak Berchelmann.

He attended Mount Sacred Heart Boys School. He attended Antonian High School the first year it opened, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, class of 1969.

He graduated from The University of Texas, in Austin, in 1974. He came back to San Antonio and attended St. Mary's Law School where he received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence Degree. He is a member of the San Antonio Bar association, The George Hanson Society, San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and was also on the Board of Directors of South Texas Blood and Tissue Center and Vital Alliance.

Bill was a lifetime member of Texas Exes.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. August George Berchelmann; and his mother, Mary Louis Staak.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Berchelmann; his daughters, Melanie Berchelmann, Natalie Berchelmann and Courtney Berchelmann; his step-sons, Chad and Kurt Lindig; his brother, Joseph Berchelmann and his wife, Jan of St. Louis, MO, sisters, Mary Ann Davis and her husband, Phil, of Nixon, TX, Christine Mann and her husband Gerald, Katie Gothard and her husband Merle of Austin, and Johanna McDonald and her husband Terry of San Antonio; brothers, Jimmy Berchelmann and wife Claire, and Stephen Berchelmann; numerous nieces and nephews.
