Bill,

You, Larry, Ted, Ueli, Eric, Christine and other fron the Geronimo  Field gang solved a lot of problems over a few beers and had some great trips along the way. It was a wonderful time. I've never had so much fun...... Blue Skys my friend.

What a tragedy that such a gifted, brilliant, fun-loving and good- hearted man left so soon. He soaked knowledge up like a sponge and applied it to everyday life. He taught me so much. I deeply wish I had contacted him.

Bill and I shared our birthdays, mine the 21, Bills the 22. It was always fun to try to buy something for the man who could buy anything for himself, so it turned out simple sometimes means alot, a rechargeable wine opener, he liked his wine, the automatic candy dispenser, he laughed many times about that thing. I loved him like a father, he was an honorable man. I will always miss him. God Bless.

Because it was the death of another, particularly an old friend, I understood how it was that I was supposed to feel.  Had it been my own death, my feelings would have been much more complicated...

I had not seen Bill in years, but I remember so well the good times we had out at the ranch in Cibolo. I spent many weekends out there with my best friend who he shared his life with at the ranch. I will always be greatful for his wonderful hospitality and caring nature. He was a very kind and generous human being. Full of life and laughter. My deepest sympathy to all the Dean family....Becky

The best year of my life was the one I shared with Bill at the ranch,  I saw a longhorn barbque grill only last week and thought fondly of him after twenty something years.  I still miss him.

Had not seen Bill in years. He was a good and fair man.

Dear Dean Family:

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved.  There are never any right words to express how deeply sad I am for the pain your family is enduring at this difficult time.    

Although I did not have the honor and pleasure of knowing him, as Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I am sincerely thankful for his valiant service in defense of our rights and freedom.

His commitment to family, friends, our community, and to serving our great nation leaves a wonderful legacy.  May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. He will never be forgotten, and your family will be remembered in my prayers.

Good memories...the house on Brahan, the good times.  He was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him.  My condolences to his family.

Bill was a childhood friend that I have not seen in 40 + years. We (Bill, Bobby, and I had some wonderful and fun times when we were growing up--Six Flags, riding ponies, etc.) Such great memories--I am very saddened that we did not connect again after college.

My darling Tricia. You know I am just heartbroken over the sudden death of your father but am so proud of you for being by his side until the end. I so remember when he first saw you, the look on his face as he was so proud of you and thought you were the most beautiful little girl in the world. Those were good times and you will always remember the good times you had with you Dad through your life. It is just so sad he left so young so you two could spend more time together. May he rest in peace. I thank him everyday for giving me such a wonderful daughter. You were truly a blessed gift to us both. He was so proud of you.

Bill was a very very compassionate man with a very big heart. His rewards in heaven will be great.

Bill was a man with a big heart. He did a lot for many and did so with little acknowledgment. I will always remember him for all the kindness he bestowed for my nephew , who loved him dearly.
