William Edward King, Jr. better known as “Billy King,” 43, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on June 25, 2021. His loss was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.
Billy was born on August 10, 1977 to William Edward King Sr. and Mary-Margret King (Green) in San Antonio, TX. After graduating from McArthur High School in 1995, he immediately went on to join the United States Marine Corps and achieved rank of Sargent serving proudly until 2002.
Billy was a decorated veteran who served in the Gulf War and spent another 2 years in the Army Reserves.
After leaving the military, Billy attended San Francisco State University in California where he completed a bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 2008.
After some time, Billy returned to San Antonio, TX where his son, Jackson Carter King was born in 2012 and his daughter, Sephine Blu King was born in 2015. Billy was unendingly proud of his children and always tried his best to support them
Billy was a force of nature, passionate and serious, but goofy at times. Billy had tremendous love for his friends and family, who meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.
Billy was also a passionate superhero fan who collected comic books and movies, a UFC fanatic who enjoyed cooking delicious meals. Billy enjoyed reading and learning new things and loved the arts and music, especially Guns ‘n Roses.
Anyone who knew Billy knew that he was the most loving father any child could ask for. Billy was predeceased by his father, mother and Grandmother Marylou Cazares. He is survived by his children and his siblings, David King and Rebecca King, along with his niece, Rubina King, and nephew, David King Jr. and his beloved pit bull, Shakespeare.
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Porter Loring Funeral Home at 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212.
There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, July 14th at 7 pm at Porter Loring.
Burial will take place at 10:15 a.m. at Fort Sam National Cemetery 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209 (Shelter 2). Please meet us there.
