Born on September 22, 1959, in Palmdale, California, Bill was the second youngest of seven children born to Harvey and Olivia Shean. From an early age, his creative spirit and vibrant personality set him apart. He was the artist of the family—expressing himself through music, design, and an infectious sense of humor that could light up any room. Whether at the piano or bantering in conversation, Bill always brought a spark of joy and wit wherever he went.
In high school, he played piano in a band, sharing his musical talents with friends and peers. That early passion for the arts would grow and transform into a lifelong journey in creativity. Bill became a gifted interior designer, known for his keen eye and his ability to tell stories through spaces. A devoted antique collector, he approached history with fascination and reverence—particularly when it came to design and architecture. Conversations with Bill were never dull, especially if the topic touched on a specific historical period, a rare vintage find, or the elegance of timeless design. Bill was incredibly creative in the kitchen and made some amazing meals.
Bill is survived by his beloved husband of 36 years, Charlie Wasser, with whom he shared a life full of love, laughter, and shared adventures. He is also survived by five of his siblings, who will remember him for his warmth, humor, and unmistakable spark.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Olivia Shean, and his sibling, John Shean.
Those who knew Bill will carry with them the memory of his quick wit, his creative soul, and the way he made the world more beautiful—one room, one story, and one smile at a time.
A celebration will be held in California at a later time.
