While searching the Internet all these years later, I learned of General Shedds passing and of his great career after my service with him. I had the privilege of serving him as his S2 when he commanded the First Brigade of the Second Armored Division in the early 60s. He was the ultimate in how you would define and officer and a gentleman,.

I knew Gen Shedd in 1972 at USAREUR/7A in Heidelberg. He was a a true gentleman and the best boss ever. We met several times later during our respective careers.

A profound military leader that I will never forget. We shared a lot of experience together when learning to fly helicopter at Fort Rucker and later in Viet Nam. Had a major impact on my military career and I would have followed this soldier to hell and back. A fantastic leader and caring individual.

Bill added a very warm note to our San Antonio group. Ann, I am very sorry you could not have had more time together.

The Roseborough family Rose, Morgan Jr., and Jaye extend deep sympathy and prayers to the Shedd family. The Shedd - Roseborough friendship goes back to Postwar Vienna. We are saddened by Bill's death, but we know that he and Kitty and Moe are getting things all set for Rose to join them so they can renew the good times our two families have shared. Loving remembrances of a wonderful and kind friend.

Bill Shedd was a big factor in my life at a point when I really needed it. His quiet guidance and leadership qualities made him an outstanding man. He was always willing to help with allowing me to use him as a reference in my resume and that was most generous of him. His sense of humor is one thing I will miss greatly. We shared a love of baseball and I am sad that I won't have a chance to take him to a Braves game someday. I know he is checking the box scores from Heaven and that is some small comfort. 
His humility was undeniable and most unusual for a man of his accomplishment. He was also a patriot and warrior for his country. My respect for him is great and I will miss him. 
My condolences to the family on their loss. I share their grief and hope that the memories of Bill will temper their grief and make recovery from their sadness come quickly.

Ann, we are so terribly saddened by Bill's passing. As you know he was a dear friend for more than 20 years. Bless you and all of the family, our prayers are with you.

I was greatly saddened to hear of Bill's death and would like to express my condolences.

Bill came into our life in the early 70's at Ft.Meade,Maryland. That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. He will be missed.

Bill was a very good friend and we miss him so much. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

We were priviledged to know Gen Shedd for 30 years and he was indeed a friend, a golfing pal and always ready to lend a hand.

We feel very fortunate to have known Bill, always positive, easily made friends, a true leader and a real gentleman.
