His military career included four years in the Navy as a corpsman serving 13 months in the Vietnam Conflict. He then graduated with a B.S.N., RN and received a commission in the Army where he served 17 years, retiring from military service in 1990.
At the time of his death he was employed by Metropolitan Methodist Hospital in San Antonio as a registered nurse.
Willie was an honest, hard working, and humorous person who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin who passed February 1, 2001. Willie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane Varner; daughter, Jennifer Varner and grandson, Tristan Moore.
Rest in Peace my love until we are together again.
