Wilmer “Bill” R. Nier, went to be with our Lord on January 27, 2013 at the age of 93 years old. He was born in Clinton County, Iowa to Elsie & Emil Nier. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Nier. Bill is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 65 years, Jewell Nier; brother, Roland Nier & wife, Clarite; sister, Madonna Knutson & husband, Howard, sister-in-law, Mary Nier, brother-in-law, Kenneth Aude; sister-in-law, Delores Aude and many nieces and nephews. Wilmer was a devoted and loving husband. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and in the European theater. He was employed in the electronics business for 25 years. Bill enjoyed western music, dancing and cars. The family would like to give thanks to his neighbor, Amelia Martinez, and care givers for their care and support. It was a blessing to have had Wilmer in our lives and he will be missed beyond words. Visitation will take place from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home.
