Yvette Levine Alterman Kalter

Yvette Levine Alterman Kalter passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016, with her family at her side, at her home in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on June 26, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee to Mary and Mark Levine.

Yvette was unwavering in her devotion to family and friends, and tremendously committed to serving her community. She connected with people not only through action, but also with a warm smile and an infectious twinkle in her eyes. Yvette was deeply loved by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Yvette is survived by her children, Stanley Alterman (Gayle), Kent Alterman (Michele Brennan), Mindi Alterman (Glenn Halff), and stepson, Steve Kalter (Karen); her daughter-in-law, Deidre Shiben and son-in-law, Alex Chartove (Lauren Randel); fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her brother, Sidney Levine (Joyce); and her brothers-in-law, Richard Alterman (Charlotte Sue) and Herman "Hy" Levin.

Yvette was preceded in death by her first husband, William Alterman and her second husband, Dr. SS "Sy" Kalter; her parents, Mark and Mary; her sister-in-law, Leah Alterman Levin; and her stepdaughters, Deborah Kalter and Suzy Kalter Gershman.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Temple Beth-El, 211 Belknap Place, San Antonio, Texas 78212. Interment will follow at Agudas Achim Cemetery, 1727 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218.
