Zachary James Collie-Moreno (Zach to his family & friends) left his loving family before his time. He was born New Year’s Eve 2002 and returned to his Father in Heaven on July 29, 2023, at the age of 20. Though his life was short, he filled it to the brim with a lifetime of love for his family, friends and airplanes.
A nature lover from a young age, Zach loved living in the country. He was active in scouts, baseball, and basketball. While attending New Braunfels Christian Academy, he played tennis and went to state where the boys team won for their area. Zach was active in bowling and was MVP for his high school bowling team.
Zachary graduated from Hallmark University Aeronautics Technician School in 2022, with associate degrees in Airframe and Powerplant. Zach was hired as an air force jet mechanic for Randolph Air Force Base in 2023 where he worked on T-38 Talon training jets.
Zach enjoyed volunteering at the Commemorative Air Force, watching NASCAR races, going to Air Shows, photography, hunting, fishing, astronomy, and traveling. He loved sharing all of his interests with those he cared about.
Zach is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jennifer and Brandon Greenberg; his father, Sergio Moreno; his grandparents, Brian and Christine Collie and grandparents, Alfred and Debbie Moreno; his great grandmother, Adela Barretto and his aunt, Laura Collie.
Zach was preceded in death by his great grandfather, Enacio H. Barretto; his great grandmother, Olivia DiPietro; and his aunt April Collie.
