Zachary lived with a fearless spirit and an open heart. He found joy in skateboarding, basketball, and bowling in a league with his father. A creative soul, he poured his thoughts into writing and drawing, and expressed his personal journey through tattoos—each one telling a story close to his heart. Among them was a tribute to his grandfather, Conrad Lighty, who passed away two summers ago.
Zachary had a passion for collecting. He spent countless hours completing Pokémon sets, organizing sports cards, and exploring the world of coin collecting. His curiosity and dedication brought him joy and connection to the things he loved.
Those who knew Zachary remember his deep empathy and unwavering loyalty. He felt the world intensely and cared deeply for others. He chose connection over convention—investing in people rather than possessions—and made heartfelt efforts to stay close with extended family throughout his teenage years. Whether reaching out to cousins or spending time with grandparents, aunts, or uncles, Zachary always led with kindness.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Staci and David Krause; his sister, Nicole “Nicky” Krause; and many others whose lives he touched in profound ways. His memory will live on through the love he gave so freely and the stories shared by those who knew him.
A celebration of Zachary’s life will be held on July 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary West, 1710 W Loop 1604 N., San Antonio, Texas. Friends and family are invited to gather for memories and some of Zachary’s favorite foods.
