Zaonia E. Boring

Zaonia Elzora Boring entered the loving arms of our Lord on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the age of 86 years old. Zaonia was born in West Wheatfield Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania on September 5, 1937 to Martha Estella Fulcomer and George Franklin Frain.

Zaonia traveled to Puerto Rico alone in 1959 to get married and began her life as a dedicated military spouse.

During the first 22 years of their marriage, they were assigned to six stateside and two overseas Air Force Bases, while having five children at four of those bases, before retiring in San Antonio.

Zaonia's hobbies included gardening, jigsaw puzzles, plastic canvas cross stitching, painting, and puzzle books. She also began volunteering at the elementary school when she became a grandmother.

Zaonia is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Warren Boring, and daughter Elzora Doreen Boring.

Zaonia is survived by her baby sister, Ida June Crusan, and her children: Hope Quintero ( Luis Jr. ), Scott Boring ( Susan), Albert Boring and Wendell Boring (Jackie ), and Michelle Campbell (Jim ). She was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Zaonia will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A departing from chapel will occur Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10:10 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Treviño Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78237. A committal service will occur Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
