Elizabeth Priscilla Mejia, age 91, of Rialto, California passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018. She was a lifetime California resident, born to Raymond and Mary Garcia Velazquez, on April 26, 1926 in San Bernardino, California. She was married for 67 years to John Duarte Mejia and resided in Rialto, California for 60 years. She is survived by her seven children, Dru Squires, Bernie (Paul) Ramirez, Lorie (Tony) Oquendo, John, Tim, Geri Gutierrez and Valerie Delarosa. She has 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She was one of 5 children and leaves behind her brother, Raymod Paul Velasquez Jr. and over 500 extended family members. She was very active in the Rialto community, coached girl's softball for several years, was inducted into the Rialto Sports Hall of Fame in 2010, and served on the Rialto planning commission for 2 years. She was an active member of St. Thomas More (later named St. John XXIII) Catholic Church. She was a member of the World Apostolate of Fatima (Blue Army) and belonged to the Maria DeJude rosary makers. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed family time, playing the piano and singing.
