Julia Garcia passed away peacefully on May 8, 2023, at Loma Linda Hospital, where she was surrounded by immediate family. Julia was born October 18, 1926, to Hispanic immigrant parents Juan and Christina Lechuga, who settled their family in the San Bernardino area. She met her husband, Ramon Garcia, who was an airman stationed at Norton Air Force Base, while attending a local dance. Upon returning from the war, Ramon and Julia started their own family in San Bernardino before relocating to Bloomington, CA, where Ramon found work and purchased a new home as their family grew. After retiring, Ramon purchased a vacation home in Corona Beach, Baja California, where he and Julia entertained friends and hosted family for many years, ingratiating themselves within the community. All those that knew Julia would agree that her greatest life calling was a stay-at-home mom and extended caregiver to both family and friends. She will be best remembered as a kind, generous, thoughtful, loyal, and beautiful—both inside and out—human being. Julia is predeceased by her husband Ramon, her sons Raymond and Jerry, her great grandson Andy, and her 12 siblings. She is survived by her son Richard and his wife, Janie; her daughter Sandra; her son Kenny and his wife, Jody; 9 grandchildren—Mike, Marie, Renee, Sean, Eric, Erin, Ryann, Tayber, Lea; 5 great grandchildren—Kevin, Joaquin, Milla, Dylan, Luke; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Julia will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 East Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404, followed by a committal service for Julia Garcia from 12:45 PM to 1:30 PM Mt.
