A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, Nana, and great grandmother, passed away on August 4th, 2013 at the age of 85. Lucy was born on December 15, 1927 in San Bernardino, California to Cruz and Juanita Avila. She is 4 of 10 brothers and sisters. Lucy married Ernest Garcia in January of 1947 and had three daughters. Lucy will forever be remembered for her huge heart and continuous generosity. She was selfless and never hesitated to give all that she could to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Lucy is survived her daughters Yolanda (JoAnn) Nunez, Lucille (Sookie) Garcia, and Cynthia (Cindy) Huerta (Anthony Huerta). She will be especially missed by her son-in-law Roy B. Nunez, who was like a son to her. She is also survived by her grandchildren Gary and Melissa Nunez, Eric and Aaron Cuellar, great grandchildren Evan James Cuellar, sisters Mary Reyes Madrid and Jennie Zermeno, and brothers David Avila, Raymond Avila, and Cruz Avila. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Ernest, sisters Mary Lou Avila, Christine (Chris) Gomez, Emma Bocanegra and brother Morris Avila.
