Auntie Fely, the name I first knew as a young child, reading from an avalanche of letters we receive from overseas, we often hear as America. Being close to our family matriarch Lola Immang, I learned about our distant (literally) relatives in a far away land. Looking back, these letters open my eyes we have blood relatives living in overseas. Over the years, even if I don’t see them, feel them, talk to them, the pictures we received are pictures of our cousins. Auntie Fely never missed giving constant update, and always insert pictures. The kids in the pictures are at my age (somewhat) or at least close to and I imagine things like growing up with them. Years go by, I see their accomplishments, share the moments of happiness, Auntie Fely always and very proud writing us about good grades (straight “A’s”) , showing us pictures in a beach, kids in martial arts lessons, celebrating some events, the list goes on. Chester, Cheston, and then Christan.. It is from these stories I began to imagine, that someday, I will see this place… 2049 N Sierra Way… the address I forever remember as the place Auntie Fely writes her letter that eventually arrived in our doorstep. I may not been able to see the place, but the memories Auntie Fely gave us is unforgetable and in remembrance to her passing, we always have her and the family in our prayers . May her soul rest in peace. In behalf of Garde family, I would like to convey our deepest condolence to the Contaoi family. My Mom and Auntie Fely are together again in Heaven…

Our deepest  condolences to you all in this difficult time.  She was a woman full of life & love and she will be dearly missed.  We hope all the wonderful times you shared together are able to bring you some form of comfort.

I will always cherish fond memories with my first cousin/Ninang, Manang Fely especially during my childhood years. My younger sister, Marivic and I spent memorable vacations in their family home in Paratong, Bangar, Philippines. She would always tag us along and we were witnesses to some milestones in her life back in the Philippines. 
We feel your great loss, Chester, Cheston and Christian but be comforted with the thought that she is now reunited with your Dad and other relatives who have gone ahead.
Rest in peace now in the bosom of God, Manang Fely. Thank you for the love and care.❤️ Dios ti kumuyog kenka.🙏🙏🙏

My cousin Ofelia was one of the kindest people I have ever known. When we were very young,  we met each other through her letters from the Philippines. She taught me about my Filipino heritage. I cherish the memories of Contaoi family gatherings where she and Domingo would  always bring the best Filipino food and shared stories of family history. 
My prayers and condolences to Chester, Cheston, and Christian at this difficult time.  May you find peace and joy in the memories of your loving mother, Ofelia.
