

Percy M. Braxton was born to HC & Lurene Braxton on June 19, 1940. He was called Home by our Lord and Savior on January 28, 2010, surrounded by the Angels of our families gone before him, at Twelve-forty A.M. He succumbed to illness in the comfort of his home wrapped in the loving arms of his family.Percy, known by his oldest and dearest friends as “Runnin Wolf’ the singer in his group named “The Golden Nuggets” during the 50’s and 60’s, which he also used as his C.B. handle, as the Assistant Base commander, Unit #101 in the Community Alert Patrol, in Lynwood, CA. Percy was drafted into the Army in 1963 where he completed two-years in Special forces. He was given an honorable discharge in 1965.Percy met Barbara on a trip she had made from Oakland, CA to Los Angeles, CA in 1960. Her family soon moved to Los Angeles, and they were married on December 20, 1963, after he had completed his basic training. Barbara joined Percy in Fort Knox, Kentucky were they lived off post in Ratcliff, Kentucky until he was discharged.Percy is preceded in death by his father. Percy’s memories will be cherished by his loving wife Barbara of 47 years; his two sons, Derrick and Eric and his wife Beverly; his daughter Adrienne; his seven grandchildren, Chi-Anne, Mathew and Mackenzie; Kalani and Ty-Yhana; Jaida and his step-granddaughter, Demetria; his loving mother Lurene Braxton; his three brothers Morris and his wife Sharon; Lawrence, and Leonard; and his sister, Saundra; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and devoted friends, too numerous to acknowledge here.
