

Rachel was born in San Bernardino (Meadowbrook), California, in August of 1935. She worked as a beautician, waitress at Nena’s Restaurant and performed data entry at Norton Air Force Base. Rachel had a passion for cooking, so much so, she and her husband Joseph Humildad purchased The Veranda Restaurant in Colton and had a successful business for 15 years. She had many accomplishments, including being a member of the ABWA and LULAC, director of a Ballet Folklórico, Grupo de Danza Tlaloc, and belonged to multiple bowling leagues.
Rachel was a hard worker her entire life and liked being busy. She helped others in need and fundraised for a scholarship in her son’s name. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, whether it be on a road trip in her motorhome or on a cruise ship to Alaska and Panama.
Rachel is preceded in death by her father, John Perez Gonzalez, her mother, Guadalupe Gonzalez, her husband, Joseph Humildad and her son Mark Dean Lopez. She is survived by her three step-daughters, Joanna Calderon (Ramon), Rachel Brock (Tim), Martha Forrester (Dennis), and grandchildren Jason Lopez (Julie), Joe Lopez, Amanda Calderon Diaz (Jason), Rae-Lyne De La Torre (Jay), James Brock (Melissa), Dylan Brock, Serena Brock, Frederick Malcomb, Joseph Malcomb (Estefany), and great grandchildren Aidan Lopez, Kaylee Lopez, Andrew Calderon, Cecelia De La Torre, Lucas Brock, Odin Brock, Robert Malcomb and Jonathan Malcomb and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank Whitsett Home Care Services for providing in-home personal care assistance. A special thank you to Candy, Miros and Daniela for not only providing in-home services and health care, but also loving companionship and treating her like family.
A public viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 7, 2022, at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery located at 570 E. Highland Avenue, San Bernardino, 92404. Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Services will be held on November 8, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernardine Catholic Church located at 531 N. “F” Street, San Bernardino, 92410.
Burial will follow the mass and commence at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery located at 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, 92518.
