To the family of Ricky Armenta, Ricky was a good friend of Larry and I for so many years along with his brother Dave.  We were always amazed at Ricky's innate musical talent.  He was a beautiful person, always smiling and the best kind of friend.  He was always willing to help and was a good listener.  I thought of him as a brother and Larry and I loved him dearly.  We enjoyed listening to him play the harp and sing.  The music he made flowed from his soul.
I will never forget this beautiful man, a special soul that touched our lives and left a permanent place on our hearts 
We were blessed to have had him as our friend.

Ricky was such a beautiful soul.  He was always kind and smiling.
He was also extremely talented and self taught himself to play multiple instruments.  He also had a good singing voice.  I remember many evenings spent with Ricky and his brother Dave while they were jamming.  He is greatly missed and I will always remember how much my husband, Larry and I enjoyed spending time with him.

Dear Maria and Family,

My husband and I knew Ricky from about 1972.  He was a beautiful soul, always smiling, warm and thoughtful.  When you met him he immediately became a good friend.  We were amazed by his talent and his ability to pick up so many different instruments and play and sing so beautifully.  I just found out last night that he had passed away a few years ago.  My heart aches for you Maria and your whole family.  I lost my precious husband 2 years ago and the heartache is deep.  If you would ever like to talk I am always here.

Rick,, what can I say, I met him at Valley College, he always made people smile, and every time we went to his home he always made sure we had a beer with him, he joked, smiled and sang little love songs to my sister Maria, he loved his music, kids, and grandkids, I'm glad I got to speak with him before he left, Rick was always there to help anyone who needed it, he was a special kinda guy, very talented and respectful, I'm sure he's up in heaven watching down on all of us, my deepest condolences to my sister Maria, daughter Rachel, son Ted and brother Jack, and family, u will always be in our thoughts, heart and prayer's

To me May 4, 2018 will be "The Day the Music Died." When Rick took his last breath, he also took with him the music so many of his friends loved hearing Rick play. Be it the harp or flute or sax he played with such passion. We can never forget his smooth voice.  I will miss his infectious smile and his unique humor. Rick will always be more than a friend. I will forever miss my Padrino, Rick Armenta. A true friend and confidant. He never said a bad word about anybody . He had an infectious smile that his son, Theodore,  has inherited. He was a talented musician and helped put everyone who played with him "in the pocket." His parents and his brother Dave taught him well at a young age.  I consider him a "natural" though he told me he didn't agree;  he said he worked hard at it. He became exceptional because he loved his music. Whenever Rick was present the music was bumpin'! He  showed his love to his beautiful daughter Rachel and her husband Matt as they brought his grandchildren into the world.  He made sure there was great music and played the harp and sang at her baby shower last year! My hat off to Maria, his loving wife, who supported his last days and allowed his many friends could come and spend their last time with him and made sure he was comfortable. My heart is broken and he takes a piece of me with him until we meet again.
