

was born on August 8,1941 in San Bernardino Ca to the parents of Manuel Sanchez Vega and Eva Herrera Vega. Manuel was from Michoacan, Mexico and His mother Eva was from Colton, Ca. Robert H. Vega was a lifelong resident of the city of San Bernardino. Robert is a Veteran who received an Honorable Discharge as a testimony of his Honest and Faithful Service from the Armed Forces of the United States of America on September 28th, 1966, for his service in the United States Navy. Robert completed a lifelong career as a Mechanic which you could always find him working on his old Blue 4 door 50 Chevy, as well as any trucks or cars for family on his days off!
On February 9th at 8:10 A.M., Robert took his last breath in his home and was escorted by the angels into eternity in the presence of our Lord. He is survived by his son Robert Vega Jr. and Wife (Patsy) Vega. Their children: Summer Martinez, Lani Vega, Vincent Vega, Tori Vega (Jesse), Charles Wright (Valerie), Chris & (Cathy) Wright, (Anthony) & Heather Ybarra. He is also survived by his daughter Jessica Vega Pangelinan & Husband (George) Pangelinan and children Jazzlyn, Jace, Jesse & (Kim) Pangelinan. Robert was the oldest of 5 children. He is also survived by his 3 sisters: Angie & (Hal) Hively, Nellie Navarrete, Mary & (Roy) Rodriguez. He is preceded in death by his girlfriend of 25yrs Gloria Ascencion, his sister Gloria & (Mike) Lemus who are now in heaven with his parents Manuel and Eva. He has a total of 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Robert is also survived by many nieces and nephews from the Brook’s, Hively’s, the Paniagua’s, the Lemus’s, and the Samaro’s, along with his cousins from the Herrera’s and Vega side of the family. He was also Blessed with some extended family in love which is his Samaro Brothers and Sisters, 4 Compas and 4 Comadres, his (Bonus daughter) Kristine Lujan Elliot - Jessica’s Bestie who grew up with him as “Dad” & Maricela De Leon who assisted with his care for the last 5/6 yrs.
On behalf of the Vega family, we would 1st like to acknowledge and thank Maricela De Leon for the care she provided for our father. His quality of life was so much better because she always went above and beyond and for that we are forever grateful. We would also like to thank all of you for celebrating our father's life with us. Thank you for all the prayers, love, and support; And a special thank you to our church family at the Way World Outreach.
A viewing for Robert will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Way World Outreach, 4680 Hallmark Parkway, San Bernardino, California 92407, followed by a celebration of life service from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
