Wanda Denise McIntosh

Wanda Denise McIntosh was born on November 14, 1958, in Santa Monica, California to Mary and W.D. McIntosh. She was one of nine children. Wanda attended church regularly and accepted Christ at an early age. Wanda was a hard worker and believed in education. Her early education consisted of Westminster Avenue Elementary, Manhattan Place Elementary, and Horace Mann Junior High. She graduated from Santa Monica High School with her diploma. During her quest to further her education, Wanda attended Santa Monica College, Long Beach City College, and Compton College, where she earned her Associate degree. She later obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Cal State University Northridge.

Wanda was a woman of many talents; she was an avid tennis player, as well as an extraordinary track and field competitor. She set track records at three colleges and even trained for the U.S. Olympic Track Team. Wanda could also dance well; she was the best pop locker around.

To cherish her memory, Wanda leaves behind her father (W.D. McIntosh), nine siblings (Janice Vaughn, Brenda McIntosh, Debbie Goodloe, Margie McIntosh, Ava McIntosh, Wayne McIntosh, Wesley McIntosh, Wade McIntosh, and Christina McIntosh), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, in which she shared special bonds with. Her beloved mother, Mary McIntosh, preceded her in death.

Wanda was a champion for her family and always encouraged those around her to seek good jobs and a higher education. She had a way of making everyone feel special and shared close bonds with many of her nieces and nephews. Wanda was very thoughtful, generous, and kind. Wanda was a giver and would often give her last to those she loved. Wanda would often place money in greeting cards and mail them to her loved ones. Wanda was a brave and bright soul, and she will be missed tremendously by her entire family.

A graveside service for Wanda will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 East Highland Ave, San Bernardino, California 92404.
