

William (Bill) Matheny Wixom, 94, of San Bernardino, California, went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2024. He was born January 21, 1930 in San Francisco, California. Bill lived in San Bernardino for the last 78 years until his recent move to Rison, Arkansas to live closer to family.
Bill united in marriage with Edna (Lumpkins) Wixom on November 3, 1950. During their 60 years of marriage they had four children. Bill worked for Santa Fe and Southern Pacific Railroads for 47 years until he retired in 1992. He enjoyed woodworking, volunteering for the San Bernardino History & Railroad Museum, and having breakfast in the morning at Denny’s.
William is survived by his four children; Donna (Russ) Grant of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Bill Jr. (Rhonda) Wixom of Hico, Texas, David Wixom of Rison, Arkansas, and Lee (Debbie) Wixom, of Lake Havasu, Arizona; three grand-children Andrea (Dustin) Rahe, Troy (Michelle) Wixom, and Jenna Wixom, and two great-grandchildren Marissa and Lillian Rahe. William was preceded in death by his wife, Edna; sister, Gay Marchi; Parents, Percy and Clementine Wixom.
Bill’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff of The Green House Cottages of Southern Hills in Rison, Arkansas for their unwavering care and compassion during his final months.
Visitation will be held on May 22, 2024 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery at 570 E. Highland Avenue, San Bernardino. Services will be held graveside from 12:15-12:45 p.m. Condolences can be left for Bill’s family at mtviewsanbernardino.com.
