In cherished remembrance of Alex Christopher Polifka, who left this world on November 28, 2025, at the age of 19, we honor his life and spirit. Born in Edmonds, Washington, Alex moved to San Diego shortly after his first birthday. He graduated from
Cathedral Catholic High School in 2025 and was set to pursue a business degree at the University of San Diego.
For five years, Alex bravely fought cancer, demonstrating unwavering faith, courage, and a quiet strength that inspired all who knew him.
His kindness and gentle spirit left a lasting impact, as he often sought solace in prayer at the school chapel, nurturing his relationship with God.
He is survived by his loving parents, John and Maria Polifka, his older sister Kiara, and his maternal grandparents from Brazil, along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. The memories they share-filled with laughter, tenderness, and love - will forever remain in their hearts. Though his absence is profoundly felt, the love Alex shared during his brief time with us will continue to resonate in the lives he touched. May he rest in peace.

While at the church, everyone is expected to dress modestly. Here are some guidelines:
• Dresses and skirts should be long enough that the knees are covered when sitting.
• Shoulders should be covered.
• Necklines should not be revealing.
• Clothing should not be too tight. Clothing is to conceal, not reveal.
• Shorts are not suitable wear for church.
These are the rules for dressing at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
Please follow them when at St. Anne’s. When you dress for church, dress to please Our Lord.
Finally: We do request that the correction of visitors in this matter be left to the priests or their delegates.
