

Allen Francis Gordon, born in Bay City, Michigan, on April 18, 1930, passed from this life at his home in Spring Branch, Texas, on February 9, 2016. Allen enlisted into the U.S. Navy directly out of high school. He served the United States for almost 30 years. He did take a break at one point and worked for the Coca-Cola Company. After his 30 years of duty with the U.S. Navy, Allen worked for the Civil Service. He was in charge of maintaining inventory & special projects brought him to Texas at times. He retired from all work, outside of his home, in 1990 at the age of 60. Allen was preceeded in death by his first wife, and the mother of his 5 children, Marion (Pearce), on October 31, 1987. His brother, Lawrence (Buck) Gordon, also preceeded him in death, as well as his brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Iler. Allen is survived by his second wife, Paulette Pugh-Gordon. His sister Shirley Iler, and brother, Kenneth Gordon. He is also survived by his children. Mark Gordon (Sabine), Earl Gordon (Joi), Bruce Gordon (Diane), Allen Wayne Gordon (Carmen), Sherri Gordon (Gary Diskin). In addition he has one Step-son, Truman Pugh (De Ann). He loved his grandchildren immensely, He is survived by 10 wonderful grandchildren. Richard Gordon, Sean Gordon, Laci Gordon, Alan Del Carmen, Hannah Gordon, Tiffany Herman-Gibbons (Tim), Brian Herman, Kristi Herman-Lampkin (Austin), Carli Noel Pugh, Cameron James Pugh. 3 Great-Grandkids survive him. Tyler Gibbons, Madison Gibbons, and Hunter Mihalkovitz. Allen was a long-time member of the Mira Mesa Moose Lodge. He was, in fact, the First Governor when it was established. Allen loved the outdoors. He and Paulette used to jump in the R. V. and take road trips with family and friends. To say he could tell you stories, is definitely an understatement! Allen was an avid animal lover. He would feed the deer at his and Paulette’s home every day, as well as make sure his beloved dogs, which he owned throughout the years were well cared for. His dog “Punky” sure is missing him. The family requests that any donations be made to the ASPCA, in the name of Allen Gordon. Allen was a contributor to this organization and would definitely approve.
