Anne Elizabeth Garvin

Anne was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on January 14, 1941 to William and Gwendoline "Penny" Metcalfe. After moving to the United States with her family in 1957, eventually settling in San Diego, CA. she met and married her husband, James Stewart Garvin in 1959 and became a naturalized US citizen in the 1970’s.

Along with working in the banking and retail industries for numerous years, Anne was a true lover of all animals and a member and dog obedience instructor at the Obedience Club of San Diego County. She also took great pleasure in making and gifting her crafts, especially jewelry.

Anne was predeceased by her parents and brother John Metcalfe, and survived by her loving husband (Jim); three children: SueAnne Garvin, Debbie (husband Bruce) Schaefer, Jim (wife Kirsten) Garvin; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, as well as two brothers: Roy (wife Betty) Metcalfe and Joseph (wife Rosie) Metcalfe.

Anne will be interred at Miramar National Cemetery (5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego CA 92111) with a memorial service taking place at same location on November 16, 2022 at 1:30 pm. Flowers can be sent to El Cajon Mortuary (684 S. Mollison Ave, El Cajon, CA 92020). If preferred, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anne’s name to the Parkinson's Association of San Diego.
