

Arthur Anthony Fusco, aged 72, passed away on November 16, 2024, in San Diego, California following a courageous struggle with a lengthy illness. Born on January 15, 1952, in Troy, New York, Arthur was raised in nearby Mechanicville. Upon high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve, transitioning to active duty shortly thereafter. Arthur dedicated 23 years to serving in the United States Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief, a testament to his commitment and leadership. Following his military career, he attended college and continued his service at the Veterans Administration, supporting fellow military veterans with dedication.
Arthur was known for his warm and kind nature and great sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him. He was a passionate collector of baseball trading cards and other memorabilia, running a successful internet business. His love for music was profound. He played guitar and sang, and was an ardent fan of the Beatles for his entire life. Arthur cherished the moments he spent at concerts with his wife, Tillie, and their bi-annual vacations to Las Vegas to celebrate their anniversaries and New Year's Eve.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Matilda; his children, Arturo, Laura, and Lisa; his brother, Robert; and his grandchildren and nephews. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Jennie Fusco.
Arthur's life was a testament to his values of service, family, and passion for his interests. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A funeral service for Arthur will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at El Cajon Mortuary and Cremation Service, 684 South Mollison Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA 92122.
