

Aurea spent her early years in the Philippines, where she attended university and pursued studies in nutrition. Following her second marriage, she had the opportunity to travel throughout Europe before eventually settling in the United States. She made her home primarily in San Diego, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and community. She later retired from Sharp HealthCare, where she worked in billing and claims.
Aurea will be remembered for her vibrant personality and her love of life’s simple joys. She enjoyed collecting dolls and jewelry, practicing tai chi, and watching Korean shows and YouTube. She also delighted in good food, especially her favorite dish, pancit palabok. She took great pride in her stylish and colorful outfits. Deeply devoted to her faith, she cherished time spent praying the rosary with friends and family.
A woman of deep compassion, she found great meaning in giving back and faithfully supported charities including St. Vincent de Paul and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, reflecting her lifelong desire to help those in need.
She is survived by her son, Dennis de Aguirre and his wife Dolores, and their son Brennan; and her daughter, Lisa Renzelman Blalock and her husband David, and their son Ryder. She is also survived by her sister, Josephine Myers, and her brothers, Rene Aoanan, Alex Aoanan, and Albert Aoanan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Leonida Aoanan, as well as her husbands, Antonio de Aguirre and Ronald Renzelman.
Aurea’s compassion, faith, and sense of style will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
