

Born in Vernon, TX February 6, 1931 to Helena Marguerite Servatius and William Raymond Abell, Sr., Bea graduated from Vernon High School in 1948. She pursued a degree in Dietetics from North Texas State University and interned at Oklahoma State before beginning her career at Southern Methodist University. In 1960 she moved to California, working for 5 years at UC Berkeley before arriving in San Diego in 1966 to begin an 18-year career as a Food Service Manager at the Naval Training Center. In 1971 she married Sidney Robert Kline, residing in Point Loma until his passing in 2014.
Bea enjoyed travel, embarking on a world tour in 1964; in retirement she and husband Sid traveled extensively, often via cruise ship. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed gardening and visits with her grandchildren. She attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic church and was a member of the Altar Guild for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Sidney R. Kline and brother James Edward Abell. She is survived by brothers William Raymond Abell, Jr. and John Paul Abell, sister-in-law Ann Lee Abell, step-children Sydney Aiello, Rodger Kline, Bruce Kline, and Catherine Kline, grandsons David P. Aiello and Michael R. Aiello, and great-grandchildren David Leo Aiello, Devin Aiello, Sophia Aiello, Madeleine Aiello and Amy Aiello. She will always remain in our hearts through our memories. Viewing is scheduled for Thursday May 17, 2018 from 4 - 8pm at El Camino Memorial, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego 92121. Funeral service and burial will be at 10:00am Friday May 18, 2018 at El Camino. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lightbridge Hospice, Alzheimer’s San Diego, or a charity of your choice.
