Beverley "Bevie" Ann (Foley) Tierney

Beverley “Bevie” Ann Tierney, a beautiful mother with unconditional love for her family, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at her home in San Diego, California surrounded by her children at the age of 89.

Bevie was born Beverley Ann Foley in May 1932 in North Tonawanda, New York to parents William and Ethel Foley. She graduated in 1950 from North Tonawanda High School. At 19 years of age, her family moved from the east coast to the west coast after her dad accepted a position at General Dynamics, Convair Division in San Diego, California. She met her husband, John “Jim” R. Tierney, Jr. while working as a Secretary at General Dynamics. Beginning in 1965 she worked the next 26 years for Hewlett-Packard (HP), Neely Sales Region as an Administrative Secretary, Order Processing Supervisor, Computer Software Trainer for the Southern California HP locations, and Internal Auditing. She accepted early retirement in 1991.

Bevie is survived by her children Greg and Shelby, her grandchildren Tim and Beau, and Felix her great grandchild. She is predeceased by her husband Jim, oldest son Todd, and younger sibling Michael.

She lived a fun and vibrant life. Every year, the family went on two-week long vacations in a station wagon pulling a 22-foot Wilderness Trailer to the most beautiful national parks. Lake Tahoe National Forest was her favorite camping spot. Or weekend trips to Anza Borrego Desert’s Badlands at Font’s Point with 3-wheelers in tow. In later years, Bevie’s weekends were spent with her best friends in Las Salinas, Mexico where they shared a small casita. She always enjoyed a glass of wine with her friends at Parky’s.

Private funeral services will be held followed by a public crypt side ceremony from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at El Camino Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 5th, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 5:00PM at Parky's Saloon - 6149 Lake Murray Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942 Donations can be made to the San Diego Humane Society on her behalf.
