With hearts full of sorrow, yet grateful for a life well-lived, we remember Caridad Abao Ranido, who passed away peacefully in San Diego, CA, at the age of 89. Her nick-name was “Caring.”
Born in Kinoguitan, Misamis Oriental, Philippines, she was a devoted wife to Gerondio Ranido, and loving mother to her 13 children. Her life was a tapestry of faith; she was a devoted Catholic and a member of The Legion of Mary, music; she loved to sing, and service - each thread woven with grace and compassion.
Caridad’s voice lifted hymns to heaven, her hands taught prayer, and her heart welcomed all. As a catechist leader, she nurtured souls in her community, and within her family, especially cherishing moments spent praying with her grandchildren. She loved to pray and did so frequently, daily.
Her Legacy is one of gentle strength, unwavering devotion, and a melody that lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
Her wake is held at Purok 2, Kinoguitan, Misamis Oriental, Philippines. The nine day novena will conclude on August 28, 2025.
