Carrol Kirk was born on March 20, 1923 in Portland Oregon. She passed away at the age of 94 in her daughter’s arms on August 30th, 2017 in Carlsbad California. Carrol is survived by her daughter – Elizabeth Cecil, five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Carrol attended the University of Oregon and then served three years in the Marine Reserves. She married Captain Robert Kirk, U.S. Navy in April, 1945. She was an active member of AOP, proudly volunteered for many years at the San Diego Naval hospital and participated in a variety of other clubs and organizations.
As Carrol’s health was declining, she stated that she had lived a great life and was ready for the next chapter. She was loved and admired by all that knew her. Carrol was never at a loss for words nor did she know a stranger. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Mira Mar National Cemetery with a small family service. Later in the spring, her family will gather in Texas to celebrate what would have been her 95th birthday and celebrate her life with all those she happily called family.
