With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Cetura “Tury” “Judy” Novello on February 21, 2026. Tury was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, supportive sister, and woman of unwavering Christian faith.
Cetura’s profound Christian faith was the foundation of her life. She walked closely with God, living out her beliefs with hospitality, generosity, and compassion towards others. She was a steady source of support and a woman of prayer, always pointing her family and others toward hope and trust in God. She found strength and peace in her trust in the Lord.
In 2002, Cetura married Cristobal Salgado, who remained faithful and stayed by her bedside until the last few moments on Earth. They shared a genuine love for each other and faith in God was the cornerstone of their marriage.
She was the proud and devoted mother of four sons—Gabriel, Frank (Frankie), Dino, and Louis (Luigi)—who were her life’s proudest accomplishments. Her love for her boys was fierce and unconditional, guiding them with prayer. She took joy in watching them grow and mature into adulthood.
Gabriel was Cetura’s emotional rock. Frankie was her dependable son, saying “Yes,” to whatever support she needed. She took great pride in Dino receiving two bachelor’s degrees. Since 2004, Tury bought Luigi yearly season tickets to the Padres and was excited to hear when people saw him on television.
Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her five cherished grandchildren—Corbyn, Chantel, Gianni, Asher, and Uriah. They always brought laughter and joy to her life. In return, she passed on favorite family recipes and great loving moments. They were the light of her life.
Tury loved to travel to new places or revisiting favorite destinations. She was also known for her exceptional culinary gifts as her kitchen was the heart of her home.
Cetura is preceded in death by her son Gabriel Novello, her parents Carmen (Carmelo) Ontiveros Orozco and Doria Felicitas (Feliz) Perasa de Ontiveros, and sister Carmen Montejano.
She is survived by her three sons, Frankie, Dino, and Luigi Novello; sisters Carmina, Cleoneth, Cedema, and Ceila Ontiveros; brother: Cornelio Ontiveros; seven nieces and seven nephews.
