Cyriaki (Koula) Lialios, 79, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2019. Cyriaki was born in Kranidi, Greece to Dimitrios and Ekaterina Sofikitis who have both preceded her in death. She immigrated to Canada when she was 17 years old and married Efthimios Lialios who also preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by her two daughters, Anastasia (Nicholas) Ramfos of Ashburn, VA and Katina (Kostas) Marinakis of Murrieta, CA. and four grandchildren; Evie and Timothy Ramfos; and Vicky and Mia Marinakis. She is survived by four sisters and two brothers and many nieces and nephews. After moving to Detroit, Michigan from Windsor, Canada she worked as a seamstress and for General Motors. She eventually became an American citizen and was very proud of it. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Greece and built their dream home in the resort town of Porto Heli. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and loved being with her family, especially when they would come to visit in Greece. She loved traveling back to the United States to visit her children and grandchildren and seeing friends and relatives. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening and gathering with her friends and family. She was a devout Greek Orthodox Christian and was a member of Philoptochos for many years. She enjoyed traveling to many areas in and around Greece to visit monastaries, churches, and ancient ruins. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 17th at El Camino Memorial-Sorrento Valley at 10am. Memorial contributions to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church and/or St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in her name, would be appreciated.
