Dalisay Enano Hembrador, 85, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in San Diego, California, surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Born on February 4, 1940, in Dasmariñas, Cavite, Philippines, Dalisay lived a full and vibrant life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
A devoted wife to Florencio Hembrador for 60 beautiful years, Dalisay was the proud mother of Irene, Ferdie, and Deana. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren—Danny, Melanie, Jazmyn, Bianca, April, Lemando Jr., Alyssa, Caitlyn, Joshua, and Addyson—and her great-grandchild, Jayce Aldryn.
Dalisay was the heart of her family and the soul of her community. She owned and operated a beloved Filipino market in Mira Mesa, where her warm smile and delicious Filipino foods brought comfort and joy to many. Outside of her business, she found joy in gardening—especially tending to her cherished calamansi tree and her many beautiful orchid plants—and was known for her incredible talent in sewing and cooking. Her pancit and lumpias were legendary, and no family gathering was complete without them or without her.
She had a gift for connection—able to make friends with anyone she met, instantly putting people at ease with her kindness and humor. Dalisay also loved spending hours on the phone, catching up with family and friends. Some of her most cherished conversations were with her dear, late sister, Eyen Enano Mendoza, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond.
She had a playful and spirited side, enjoying Zumba classes and bingo games at the local senior citizen center. In quieter moments, she loved coloring on her iPad, always finding ways to express her creativity.
Dalisay lived by strong values of putting family first and loving one another. She was endlessly loving, caring, loyal, and faithful—not only to her family and friends but to her deep faith in God. She reminded her family to stay strong even in the toughest times, always there as a pillar of strength and warmth. When words failed, she would gently reassure us, “That’s the way, you know. What can you do.”
Dalisay will be deeply missed, but her love, lessons, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
