Don was born in Sacramento to Charles & Winifred Determan (Svilich). He spent his childhood in Los Angeles & Sacramento, graduating from McClatchy High (1956).
He earned his B.S. from Sacramento State (1962) and later became a CPA.
Don moved to San Diego for law school, graduating from Cal Western (1967). He worked for various companies, including Kahn Construction, U.S. Elevator, and Carousel Cleaners.
Don loved sports and played tennis, golf, and football. An avid sports fan, he cheered for the Yankees, USC football, and more. Don loved Pacific Beach and lived in his Mission Bay condo for over 50 years.
We are grateful for Don's caretakers, including Gigie Rebosura at Casa Del Cielo. Don is survived by his sister Beverly Determan; son Anthony White (Tammy Lynn White) & family; niece Kathryn Smith (Brian Naberhuis) and their daughters Samantha & Sarah Naberhuis; niece Jennifer Smith (Carl Neufeld); and many cousins.
