I remember fondly and vividly first meeting him in San Diego back in 2003 when he was a beautiful and playful little toddler. And then once again on your trip to Ireland a few years back to see the fine man he had become with his whole life ahead of him. We are so saddened by this. It’s a horrible thing to have to happen to your family. I’m so sorry for you all. I have not enough words to describe the depth  of our sorrow for you, Grant and Tom.  We will always remember the family vacations we took together to Mexico, the Caribbean,  and visiting in San Diego.  We all had such fantastic weeks.   Dylan was a fun, mischievous, thoughtful, lovable young boy. I remember when you told me that he learned to skateboard  by asking the older girls down the street to teach him- and they did!

Dear Zonaras Family,

By now, you must know how much of an impact Dylan had on me as an educator and as a person. He contributed so much to enrich the lives of those around him and I am forever grateful. Our math department will always cherish Dylan's contribution of the Calculus t-shirt and his legacy will forever live on in our hearts. 

My deepest sympathy for Dylan's family.  I cannot even fathom your grief.  Dylan was great to work with when he was drumming at Mesa Verde Middle School.  He always had a smile and enjoyed playing in percussion ensemble.  As he was in his sport activities,  he was an awesome team player in percussion.   My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and teammates.

We were heartbroken to hear of a Dylan’s passing.  Your visits to Ohio have always been so wonderful and we cherish the memories we created together. We are sending so much love and prayers your way. 

I was so sorry to hear about Dylan’s passing.  The whole Park Village family has you in their thoughts and prayers.  I remember Dylan riding in the stroller when Dawn brought Grant to my kindergarten class each morning.  Dylan often wore a super hero costume and always a big smile.  It sounds like he continued to be a super hero and a wonderful young man.  I send my sincere condolences to your whole family.


I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dylan. I have fond memories of him playing in the playground at Park Village when I was a noon duty there. He was such a sweet little boy. May God grant him peace.

Dear Zonaras Family,

Heartbreak is not a strong enough word. I can't imagine the grief your family is enduring on this unimaginable journey. Dylan was such in integral part of our kids' elementary years. We remember zoo trips, dropping off the older boys then playdates at the park, bike rides in the canyon, swimming, and backyard birthday parties. Dear Dawn and Tom -  Words cannot even begin to express how genuinely sorry we are for your incredible loss.  Dylan had such a sweet soul.  Lauren came to me in great sadness today when she heard the news of his passing.  We will all remember young Dylan and his kindness.  He was the first boy ever to bring Lauren a rose and even a princess bracelet from Disney  (first grade).   May God grant you all grace and peace as you work though this healing process.
