

Efrena was the eldest daughter with 6 other siblings: 2 sisters and 4 brothers. As a young adult, she experienced the hardship of WW II. Nonetheless, Efrena was determined to finish her high school at Provincial High School in Lingayen, Pangasinan. Soon afterwards, she received her Elementary Teacher Certificate at Agno Valley College in Malasiqui, Pangasinan.
On July 10, 1950, in Malasiqui, Pangasinan, Efrena married Emiliano. Emiliano was enlisted in the US Navy and stationed in Pearl Harbor, HI. Later, Efrena would travel from the Philippines to Honolulu to meet up with her husband. During their stay in Hawaii, they had four daughters: Emelda, Evelyn, Erlinda and Elizabeth. As a military wife, Efrena traveled with Emiliano to Seattle, Washington; Pensacola, Florida (2x); Norfolk, Virginia and Subic Bay, Philippines. In 1969, Emiliano retired, and the family settled in Baguio City, Philippines. In 1980, Efrena and Emiliano returned to the U.S. to be closer to their daughters in California.
Efrena’s hobbies included travel, crocheting, sewing and scrapbooking. She was an active member of the Malasiquian of San Diego County and loved meeting up with friends, attending parties and enjoyed dancing.
Efrena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by her 4 daughters, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and her younger sister. Efrena is now reunited with her husband Emiliano.
