Elaine Sheila Bradbury

October 5, 1947 – March 18, 2023

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA –

Elaine Sheila Bradbury, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Scripps Green Hospital La Jolla. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where she grew up with her parents Frank Leo Fry and Jean Mary Fry (née O’Brien) and younger brother John Michael Fry who predeceased her six days earlier.

She is survived by her loving husband Michael Bradbury, daughter Mia Gray Bradbury, son Andrew Michael Bradbury (m. Samantha Monique Detwiler) and grandson Lucas Everett and granddaughter Logan Gray.

A California girl at heart, Elaine had spent memorable teenage years in San Diego. True to those days of ocean and sunsets, she reclaimed her love for our city, returning from the East Coast with her husband and newborn daughter in December 1983. It would be the beginning of a beautiful chapter.

With her great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh, Elaine had the natural ability to engage and converse easily with people of all ages. She was thoughtful, intelligent, creative, interesting and empathic. She was blessed with a long, full life, and will be deeply missed by her family and the many friends who knew her and loved her.

Her memory will forever live on in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
