Aunt Betty was a kind and generous person to a fault.  She would put others in front of her own well being. Loved kids. It is easier to be kind to family and friends.  She helped kids outside of her circle of friends, took them to events and supported programs for kids.  Later many of these people did in fact become family and friends.  She was a free thinker.  She is truly missed.

My Great Aunt Betty had a presence about her. Whenever she was there, I noticed. I can feel her strength the moment she would enter the room (or area).  I can’t point out one memory but I felt compelled to write something. I remember and will always remember her as one of the toughest women in my life.  So tall compared to my Avoa haha. Very stern and independent … both those ladies were. Aunt Betty loved very hard. She would always take the time to ask me how I was doing and I felt as though I could tell her anything. With all the chaos that goes on at a family gathering, she would still make it feel like it was just us talking.  I’m blessed …. I truly am to have the family that I have. Rest In Peace Aunt Betty. 

Aunt Betty,  the youngest of the sisters, and this aunt was so full of life, always willing to give her time and spend whatever she had to make a better life for others.   Aunt Betty made this world a better place in which to live and for that I am thankful. 
I am sure she will have a special place  in heaven.

For the last 2 years with our Queen Elizabeth, I spend countless hours creating memories from just simply singing our favorite song “You are my sunshine”   And a lot of old song from Doris Day and frank Sinatra.  She taught me how to count in Portuguese.    We watched a lot of cooking shows and shared a few recipe.  Queen Elizabeth always been so grateful and extremely appreciative .   I miss her daily, I was grateful that I was able to assist her with her all activity daily living .  I miss her smile, our daily talks.  I’m glad she’s now at peace and having a grand time.  I miss and love  you Elizabeth❤️ Rest in Paradise . 



I was born shortly after my 9 year old brother Tommy passed away from kidney cancer. My parents were devastated. My mother had no energy for me but did the best she could under the circumstances.  Aunt Betty was the sun in a very grey time when I was little. When she came to visit I was over the moon. We took walks, played at the park and watched the boats at Shelter Island. When she had to go I cried so hard she’d drive me around the block just to calm me down. As I got older she took me and my cousins camping out to Butterfield Country. 
She was always so fun, she made me feel special.  I’m thankful for all that she did for me. 


I visited her at her care home fairly often and enjoyed watching her really tap and sing along to Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B Goode”.  When that chorus came around she was really singing and definitely thinking of some fond memory of her youth! We also laughed extremely loud when video chatting over Skype with Aunt Mae! We had a lovely time together. She would tell me her son Billy and my mother would come to visit but everybody is always so busy. 
Queen Elizabeth as they called her in the care home in my mind, was a tall, shapely, beautiful spitfire that always turned heads wherever we went.  Now she’s young again driving on the open road with Billy, blasting Chuck Berry probably heading to a hip casino where Frank Sinatra is singing “I did it my way”. I love you Aunt Betty

I visited my great grandmother on her birthday this year on March 11, 2021. I brought her a card that pops up and a peep stuffed animal. She was surprised to see me and had told me stories of her past that she remembered. She was happy that day and always loves visits from me. She kept a picture up of me on her wall so she can always look at it.
