Erminia Busalacchi

Erminia passed away peacefully on February 25, 2023 at the age of 93. Born Erminia Massa, to Laurie Lazzaro Massa, Sr. and Katherine Massa, she was the oldest of Andrea and Preziosa Castagnola's 27 grandchildren.

Mamie graduated from San Diego High School in 1947. She then worked at the local fish cannery with friends and family until marrying Thomas Busalacchi, Sr.

Erminia had four boys: Thomas Joseph Busalacchi Jr., Laurie Cosimo Busalacchi, Paul Michael Busalacchi, and Joseph Busalacchi.

She also had six grandchildren: Joanne, Nicole, Benn, Eric, Fiama, and Easton. Her grandchildren loved her dearly.

Mamie loved her family and was a constant inspiration to them.

She showered her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the next generation of children with nurturing love, affection, and warmth. People loved to be around Mamie because of her good nature, warm heart, humor and infectious smile.

She is predeceased by her husband Thomas, her sister, Jeanette Liegl, and her brother, Laurie Lazzaro Massa, Jr.

She is survived by her four boys, her daughters-in-law Amy Busalacchi and Kendra Busalacchi, her grandchildren, as well as her sisters Annette Busalacchi and Andrea Piranio, and sister-in-law Adeline Massa.

She lived an extraordinary and impactful life filled with love and faith.

We will all miss this special woman.

Erminia Busalacchi's Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, March 25, 2023, 10:00 AM, at Saint Vincent De Paul Church, 4080 Hawk Street, San Diego, CA 92103.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life Reception immediately following the Funeral Mass, in the Parish Hall from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Erminia's name.
